Starting Procedure:
- Turn the decompression valve so that the larger "ear" of the valve is pointing out towards you.
- Open the throttle completely.
- Ensure that the drive is in neutral and the hand brake is set.
- Pull the injector valve up if the engine is cold.
- Place the crank in the proper location and crank vigorously counter-clockwise.
- If unit has electric start, turn the key.
- Once the engine starts the crank will fall out.
Compacting:
- Forward and reverse are controlled by the drive lever on the handle.
- The vibratory action is actuated by pulling back on the vibe lever.

- If ambient temperature is below 0 C, start up oil may have to be added.
- If electric start is not working, the crank may have to be employed.
