Ferrous Metal Locator

- This tool is used to pin point the exact location of objects buried in the ground that are made of iron (Fe).
- It is great for locating P.K. and masonry nails, re-bar, manhole covers up to 7' deep, septic tanks, pipe joints or even fire hydrants buried deep beneath the snow.
- Always transport in carrying case.
- Audible tone increases to a maximum pitch directly over target
- Not affected by ground minerals, copper, aluminum etc.
- 6 AA alkaline batteries provide 100 hours of use
- Operates in temperatures from -25 to 49 degrees Celsius.
1. Turn on unit and set the sensitivity to half full.
2. Walk forward at a moderate pace holding the locator at a 30-45 degree angle to the ground. Move the locator in a zig-zag pattern.
3. When searching for deep objects move at a slow pace.
4. When the target is generally located (due to an increase in the pitch) hold the locator vertically and adjust the sensitivity as required.
5. To pinpoint the target use and "x" pattern to pinpoint continuing to hold the locator vertically.

Helpful Hints
- Do not hold close to steel-toed boots, belt buckles etc.
- Approach the signal from different directions to pinpoint the center of an object.
