- Place the unit on the ground & remove blade cover if applicable.
- Press the throttle switch in slightly while turning the on/off switch fully to the on position.
- Continue to hold the on/off switch while letting go of the throttle.
- This sets the throttle at the halfway point for easier starting.
- Pull the cord until the engine turns over.
- Turn the choke to the open (off) position.
- Pull the recoil rope again until the engine starts and allow it to warm up for a few minutes.
- Press the throttle until maximum rpm's are achieved & start cutting.

Tool won't start
- Check that the on/off switch is in the on position.
- Make sure that the gas valve lever is in the on position.
- If the tool is flooded, pull the recoil several times while the choke is off & the throttle is in the full position until the engine starts.
- Make sure that the tool has fuel & check the oil level.
- Check that the on/off switch is in the on position.
