- Push the choke switch to the cold start position.
- Turn the stop switch on.
- Pull the recoil rope until you hear the engine roll over.
- Put the choke in the off position.
- Pull the recoil rope until the machine starts.
- The throttle is located on the handle of the tool.
- Walk along the entire area until the area is completely cleared.

- Check the fuel level & oil levels.
- Be sure the choke is pulled out.
- Be sure the on/off switch is in the on position.
- If engine is flooded, pull cord several times with the choke off & throttle in full position until engine starts.
- Make sure that the fuel line is in the on position.
