Refresher Course Eligibility

This refresher course is intended for Experienced operators who:
• Currently hold a Rough Terrain Forklift or Tele-Handler operator certificate that is about to expire.
• Have a certificate that will expire within one month of taking the course.
• Require retraining to maintain their operator qualification and demonstrate continued competency in safe operation practices.

Quick Overview

A Rough Terrain Forklift (Tele-Handler) is a powered industrial vehicle designed to lift, move, and place loads on construction sites and uneven terrain. It uses large pneumatic tires and often a telescopic boom to reach elevated or difficult-to-access areas.

Who Should Take It: Experienced employees who operate rough terrain forklifts or tele-handlers.
Retraining: Every 3 years.

Key Safety Points:
• Complete a pre-use inspection before operating.
• Wear required PPE and seat belt.
• Understand the machine's load capacity and stability limits.
• Travel at safe speeds and be alert for pedestrians and obstacles.
• Keep loads low and stable while moving.
• Never exceed the rated load capacity.
• Follow safe startup, operating, and shutdown procedures.
• Report defects and perform required maintenance.
