Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a pure, aqueous solution of urea and water, to be used in new diesel SCR engine technology. AIR1 DEF is API certified to guarantee product quality.

  • A combination of deionized water and urea that transform harmful nitrous oxide emissions into harmless water and nitrogen
  • DEF is injected into the exhaust system (separate compartment) and never added directly to diesel fuel
  • DEF is not a fuel additive, not toxic or harmful to humans or animals and is not flammable or explosive but should be handled with care to avoid unnecessary spills, contact with eyes or accidental ingestion
  • It is recommended that DEF be stored between 12F and 86F but if stored below 65F, shelf life is extended to 2 years. Store DEF in a climate-controlled environment and out of direct sunlight to extend shelf life
